About me
Programmer Analyst & Android Developer
Programmer Analyst graduated from INACAP, specialized at the intersection of Android, edge AI, and agriculture. I've taken computer vision models from the lab to the real field: estimating grape size with a phone camera, offline, in a vineyard in Chile's V Region.
I'm currently an Android & Edge AI Development Intern at ScaleAI / Anomaly, where I build Kotlin apps, implement local ONNX Runtime inference, and contribute to on-device computer vision solutions.
My differentiation isn't just technical: I understand agricultural context, I know a Xiaomi Redmi in the field doesn't behave like a lab Pixel, and I design offline-first architectures because I know vineyards don't have WiFi.
On my first AI project I made the mistake of training a model with studio images, only to discover in the field that midday shadows ruined accuracy. Since then, my golden rule is: two weeks of on-site observation before writing a single line of architecture.

Methodology
How I approach a project
I don't just write code. I solve real problems with well-founded technical decisions.
I understand the problem before writing code
On the grape project, I spent the first 2 weeks observing how agronomists manually measure size before defining the architecture. I don't design in an office — I design in the field where it will be used.
I design offline-first when the field is involved
Vineyards don't have WiFi. The app must work without connection for hours and sync data when network is available. This completely changes the database architecture and UX.
I measure before optimizing
I use Android Profiler, ONNX Benchmark and Lighthouse to make data-driven decisions, not opinion-based ones. I'd rather have an app that works on a Xiaomi Redmi than on a lab Pixel.
I document for the future team
Every project includes a technical README, architecture decision records (ADRs) and diagrams so another developer can maintain it without depending on my memory.
